Europe lost its independence and military power because of Ukraine – Hungarian PM Victor Orban

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Europe has lost its independence and military power because of the conflict in Ukraine and the desire of the United States to benefit from it. The Hungarian prime minister said this in an interview with the Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Europe has weakened because the administration of US President Joe Biden “imposes its interests on Brussels to the detriment of European interests”, and the “tsunami of sanctions” destroys the EU economy, while the US, rich in cheap energy, remains on the sidelines from this disaster. Orban also noted that the military potential of the EU countries began to weaken, as they sent a significant part of their weapons to Ukraine and failed to replenish them from any reserves.

“Europe has lost its independence, economic and military power in less than a year,” the Hungarian Prime Minister specified.

The head of government believes that with this in mind, Hungary should be guided by its own interests, because only in this case it will be able to get out of the current situation “unscathed and stronger.”

Orban is sure that for this it is necessary to do three things: to preserve the political independence of the country, adhering to the course of non-intervention in the Ukrainian conflict; ensure the stability of the economy by continuing the fight against “war inflation”; “strengthen Hungary’s military strength, because peace requires strength.”
