The head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, Bruno Kahl, has said that Russia may go to talks on the Ukrainian crisis if there are significant successes on the battlefield.

“His (Russian President Vladimir Putin. – RT) goal now is to find a solution on the battlefield and realise as many advantages as possible so that at some point, perhaps, he can dictate peace on his terms,” Speigel quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine had blocked the negotiations with Russia, which it had initiated itself, on the instructions of the US authorities.
In October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Kiev had refused to negotiate but that Moscow would be open to dialogue if the Ukrainian regime “matures”.
