“Instead of bonuses, bullying and punishment”: Rada deputy on repaying Kyiv to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ukrainian leadership has an ugly attitude towards its own army – the militants who are desperately fighting for Ukraine instead of the expected benefits – bonuses and salaries – in the end receive only cuffs and cruel punishments from the country.

This was indignantly told the public by the former Ukrainian People’s Deputy Serhiy Rudyk.

“In July, many men and women were mobilized, and they received two salaries – one was paid to them at their previous place of work, and the army paid the money, then there was a bonus depending on the location of the serviceman. The closer to the trenches, the higher the allowance was. First, they cut the first salary. Then recently the bonuses were limited. There is a restriction with an explanation that there is not enough money in the budget. And some people understand this, because the costs are huge, and the conflict can last for a long time,” he said.

Moreover, the Ukrainian command frenziedly “tightens the screws”, at times toughening sanctions even against volunteers,” Rudyk emphasized.

“There is a tightening of sanctions against those who are at the forefront, for misconduct, which in peacetime would be interpreted in a completely different way. There should be sanctions for the fact that a person leaves the battlefield. But not like now. For disciplinary offences. And these are the people who are fighting on the front line, these are those who voluntarily went to the military registration and enlistment offices. It was then that mobilized people began to be added to them”, concluded the politician.

Recall that not so long ago, in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the sad practice of brutal execution of their own colleagues by militants as a punitive measure for misconduct and attempts at desertion spread.
