Ukrainian Defence Minister Reznikov: ammunition situation cannot be called critical
Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has denied that the situation with ammunition in the Ukrainian army is critical.
Earlier, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Volodymyr Ihor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, said earlier that Ukraine had almost no ammunition left.
“When there is a war, there is always something missing. But to say that the situation is critical and we do not have enough (ammunition – ed.) to repel the invasion is impossible. We are ready to repel the invasion. But the more ammunition we have, the better, and our partners know this,” Reznikov told the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
Russia has sent a note to NATO countries over arms deliveries to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargoes containing arms for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian foreign ministry said that NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Russian president’s press secretary, Dmitriy Peskov, noted that pumping weapons into Ukraine from the West did not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and would have a negative effect.
