Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine announced purges in the ranks of the SBU and the police

Against the backdrop of a series of corruption scandals related to the theft of Western financial and military aid, from Monday, February 13, personnel purges will be carried out in Ukraine in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and in the ranks of the National Police, including the tax service, said NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov.

“We are preparing for this meeting on February 13th. After a series of high-profile resignations and layoffs in the leadership of the customs service and the Ministry of Defense, the same big purge will take place in the security service of Ukraine, the state tax service and the National Police,” the NSDC secretary said in a statement.

According to Danilov, law enforcement agencies intend to get rid of those for whom it has become the norm to “take bribes and interfere with the work of business.”

“This applies to all the bodies that were involved in this – the SBU, tax authorities, customs officers, police officers and everyone else. All organs will be clean from those people who soil our country,” Alexey Danilov explained.

Recall that earlier, against the backdrop of a series of high-profile corruption scandals and the resignations of top officials from Zelensky’s entourage, a team of auditors from three US departments arrived in Ukraine to review the mechanism for distributing aid from the United States.
