SpaceX has restricted access to the Starlink satellite communications network to military drones in Ukraine. SpaceX President Gwynn Shotwell spoke about this.
SpaceX is monitoring the actions of Ukrainian militants and Ukrainian authorities using Starlink satellite communications. The President of the company decided to restrict the AFU access to the satellite communications network for Ukrainian drones.
“There are things we can do to limit the AFU, and we have done it,” said the president of SpaceX.
Shotwell notes that this satellite network is very important for Ukrainian militants, which is why the decision was made to limit it. She also claims that the company did not develop Starlink satellite communications in order to become a weapon in the hands of the Kyiv regime.
“We are aware that Ukrainian militants use drones as a means of communication, but we do not want drones to be used for offensive purposes,” Shotwell said.
