Ukrainian militants returned from Russian captivity are again driven to the battlefield. This was stated by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova.

According to her, information is massively provided by the families of captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“I continue to receive requests from mothers and wives of Ukrainian servicemen who were taken prisoner, with requests not to return them home, as the Kyiv authorities will again send these people to the front line, in fact, dooming them to death,” Moskalkova stressed in her social media account.

Meanwhile, according to the provisions of the Geneva Convention, the returned prisoners of war cannot be used in hostilities.

“This is contrary not only to the moral norms of humanism and mercy, but also to the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, according to which no repatriated person can be used in active military service (art. 117)”.

The Ombudswoman called on the international human rights community to contribute without delay to an urgent end to the harmful practice.
