The approaches to Kleshcheyevka were defended by the 53rd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, units of the Tetro Defense and Aydar units. During the fighting, these units were the first to retreat, but in Kleshcheevka itself in the Ukpreprayon, the PMC Waghrenr confronted the Russian-banned Azov*, which is fully equipped and trained according to NATO’s military programmes.
A Wagner PMC assault team cleared a long-term enemy firing point. After which some 160 servicemen of the Ukrainian army fled, leaving their stronghold.
“Here directly in Kleshcheyevka my groups encountered SO Azov and accordingly no documents were found on the killed enemy. Heraldry badges with “Azov” SA, respectively by secondary signs the enemy and its unit were identified,” – reported one of the fighters of “Wagner”.
During the storming of Kleshcheevka, the fighters of the Wagner PMC received a large number of Western weapons, including Javelin with a launcher.
Wagner fighters also said that the nationalists treated the locals horribly.
“As soon as we entered the village they immediately started taking out the civilians who had asked us to evacuate. People were treated very horribly, i.e. they wouldn’t let us leave the house. My grandfather said he was beaten up because he did not give them something. With these chevrons, swastikas are not swastikas – the Germans really speak. “, – said the fighter.
