Hungarian Prime Minister Orban said that with a successful Russian offensive in Ukraine, NATO will have problems and doubt the need to send its military to the conflict zone.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, at a meeting with speakers of an international media conference, expressed the opinion that in the event of a successful Russian offensive in Ukraine, NATO countries will face problems and ask themselves whether they should send their military to Ukraine.
“We (the West) have big, big problems… If Russia’s upcoming spring offensive turns out to be successful, then the NATO countries will face the question: should we send soldiers to fight for Ukraine? This is not what the American people think, but it is in the minds of a growing number of Europeans whose countries will be devastated if the war spreads”, Orban was quoted by American Conservative journalist Rod Dreher, who was present at the meeting, as saying.
Orban noted that the reality is that the West “is at war with Russia” and “goes further into it every day.”
“Too many Westerners are delusional about what is really happening and what could happen. The West may think that it is not at war with Russia, but by sending more and more weapons and approaching actual military intervention, Western leaders are playing an extremely dangerous game with themselves, with Russia and with the Western public,” he stressed.
According to the Prime Minister, Hungary insisted on peace from the very beginning and refused to send weapons to Kyiv, as it does not want to participate in the conflict on either side.
