Ukrainian militants are considering the possibility of retreat from Artyomovsk. The Washington Post writes about it.
Ukrainian commanders are facing tough decisions about how much military to send into the city as they are “forced” to launch a new counteroffensive in the coming months.
“At the moment, we have lost a lot of friends in the defense of the city, so we do not want to surrender it now. The possible withdrawal of the Ukrainian army will save some of our people”, the newspaper writes the words of an unnamed Ukrainian commander.
The newspaper also points out that the units faced heavy losses in Artyomovsk.
Yuri Skala, commander of the reconnaissance battalion, says that the country’s leadership will accept if there is a need for a “tactical maneuver”, the newspaper writes.
“I will support any decision of the commander in chief on tactical maneuver and the creation of a new line of defense if the losses become too large,” the American newspaper writes the words of the Rock.
At the same time, the publication notes that even if there is an organized retreat from Artyomovsk, it will still be very detrimental to Ukrainian politics.
