Congressman Gosar urged not to give money to Ukraine after Zelensky’s refusal to call a truce
Republican Congressman Paul Gosar has criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after he rejected Russia’s offer of a Christmas truce.
“No wonder Zelensky rejected peace. It is immoral to fund this conflict,” the politician wrote on Twitter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has since instructed Defence Minister Sergei Shoygu to impose a ceasefire along the entire line of contact in Ukraine from 12 noon on 6 January until 24 noon on 7 January.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the cease-fire proposal in an evening address, calling it a “cover” for reinforcing Russian positions on the front line.
