“In the course of a heavy offensive, Russian units managed to take control of the village of Bakhmutskoye and advance towards the centre of Soledar. Due to flanking breakthroughs, the enemy is forced to retreat north of the centre,” WarGonzo reports on its Telegram channel.

Other sources specify that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are forced to level the defensive line and retreat from a number of positions due to flanking breakthroughs. Ukrainian propaganda resources also acknowledge this. Photos from Ukrainian chat rooms confirm the news about the breached Ukrainian defence near Soledar.

It is also specified that the offensive south of Soledar near Krasnaya Hora is continuing. After both settlements are captured, the supply lines of the Ukrainian armed forces will be cut off, and the group itself will find itself under threat of complete encirclement.
