The Russian Defence Ministry has said that 63 Russian servicemen have been killed as a result of a HIMARS attack on the populated area of Makiivka by the Ukrainian armed forces.

It is specified that the AFU militants struck with six rocket-propelled grenades at a temporary deployment point of one of the Russian units near Makiivka.
“Four rockets with high-explosive warheads hit the temporary deployment point and killed 63 Russian servicemen,” the report said.
The ministry added that two HIMARS rockets were shot down by Russian air defence assets.
On 1 January, it was reported that the Ukrainian armed forces shelled Donetsk and Makeyevka.
