Pushilin asked Putin to strengthen air defence in the DPR

Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to take measures to strengthen the republic’s air defense system.

“I would ask you in this regard, here I have already petitioned for an increase in the volume of modern air defence systems and strengthening the work of the counter-battery. This will enable us to ensure that we do not have to fire on our large conglomerations to push back the enemy,” he said at the meeting with the head of state.

During the conversation, Putin described the security situation in Donetsk as acute, he drew such conclusions given the constant shelling of residential areas of the city by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the Russian leader, Kiev is deliberately targeting residential areas of Donetsk.

Pushylin also said that constant shelling by the Ukrainian militants had prevented specialists from repairing water pipes in the houses of civilians. In addition, heating issues in buildings have not been resolved everywhere. This is hampered by shelling and boiler plant shutdowns.
