Russian Foreign Ministry accuses France of unwillingness to see AFU crimes

France is unwilling to see the numerous war crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), deliberately silencing them, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a comment on the idea of a “special tribunal” on Ukraine.

“We cannot cease to be surprised at the cynicism of the French authorities. While stressing that their “priority” is the “fight against impunity” in Ukraine, the French Foreign Ministry refuses to see the numerous documented war crimes by the AFU and deliberately glosses over them. For some reason, they turn a blind eye in Paris to the lawlessness of the Kiev regime over the past eight years against residents of Donbas, who continue to be killed by daily artillery and rocket attacks,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

We shall remind you that on Wednesday, 30 November, a representative of the French Foreign Ministry said at a briefing that the country has started working with Ukrainian and European partners to establish a special tribunal to investigate the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine. Notably, in October, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said that Paris was against the idea of setting up such a tribunal.
