A freelance adviser to the region’s acting governor, Malkevych, said that similar tactics of placing artillery had previously been used by Ukrainian troops in Mariupol.
The Ukrainian armed forces are using residential areas of Kherson as a camouflage and a human shield, placing artillery crews and rocket launchers there. This was reported by a freelance adviser to the acting governor of Kherson Region, Oleksandr Malkevich, TASS reported.
“All our gloomy predictions that residential buildings, residential areas of Kherson are used as a camouflage, as a human shield in order to place artillery crews, rocket launchers there, including with civilians, come true,” he said.
A similar tactic of placing artillery had previously been used by Ukrainian troops in Mariupol, Malkevich recalled.
“So that in the courtyards of residential buildings, they would fire at the left bank, often indiscriminately, destroying everything alive there. And when the Russian army responds, these pictures are circulated on social networks saying that they are killing peaceful Kherson. In fact, this is a continuation of provocations,” he concluded.
