Borrell believes that the Russian Federation and China remain in the lead roles in Central Asia. Although, these countries want to transform trade and foreign policy relations, where Europe is one of the partners. The European Union is interested in such changes.

“We must cooperate with the region, use its full potential in order to achieve the supply of raw materials and open new transport corridors for us that are independent of Russia,” said the High Representative of the European Union.

In his opinion, Europe is one of the main trade partners of Central Asia.
