Russia and Turkey have reached an agreement in principle on the creation of a gas hub, Ankara has begun to carry out work on its part, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Denmez said.

“First, we will consider our part of the work. We started it. Friends work in Botaş, Epiaş (Turkish energy companies – ed.). We have always had the goal of becoming a gas and trade center. In principle, an agreement has been reached on negotiations. First we need to finish the work on our side,” the official explained.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that Russia could move gas transit from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey.
