The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, admitted that NATO could not fulfill some of its promises to Russia. He stated this in Madrid during a speech at the Charles of Antwerp Foundation.
“I am not satisfied with the reasoning and arguments that many, including my friends <…> justify the aggression by saying that NATO did not fulfill its promises. It’s possible. This is history. None of this justifies what is happening now”, said Borrell.
According to his head of European diplomacy, by supplying weapons and money to Ukraine, Europe “defends itself.” The politician also said that the EU has “numerous obligations” to Kyiv.
