In France, they decided to continue issuing short-term visas to Russian citizens, but at the same time increasing the fees and terms for processing requests. This was reported on the website of the French Embassy in Moscow.
The message notes that official Paris is acting with reference to the instructions of the Council of the European Union. According to the new rules, the visa fee will more than double – from 35 euros to 80. In addition, consideration of a request for a Schengen visa can now take up to 45 days.
“Those who wish to obtain a visa are advised to take this period into account when planning a trip,” the message says.
The embassy stressed that these changes will not affect long-term visas.
Recall that at the end of August, the Foreign Ministers of the EU countries at an informal meeting in Prague decided to suspend the agreement with Russia on visa facilitation. The measures taken will make obtaining visas longer, more difficult and more expensive.
