The special military operation of Russia in Ukraine is not accidental, since the current situation was preceded by the steps of NATO and Western countries. This was stated on the air of the Haberturk TV channel by the representative of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ibrahim Kalin.

“In the new order, at the top of the pyramid is a superpower, and below it are five or six great powers: Russia, China, England, France, Germany. Below are the average countries and other countries,” said Kalyn. According to him, Moscow “began to doubt the pyramid in geostrategic and military terms”, and therefore proposed “to revise the terms and sign a new balance agreement in 30 years.”

In addition, “those who wanted to suppress those trying to get out from below” chose the path of conflict, he explained.

“When you look at what has happened over the past 30 years, you have to deal with a causal relationship, this is both the actions of the West and the expansion of NATO,” Erdogan’s spokesman said, stressing that Turkey also objects “to this wrong world order.”

Turkey refused to join the anti-Russian sanctions. As Kalyn explains, Turkey does not intend to impose sanctions against Russia, as the country is dependent on external energy sources. He also stressed that Ankara openly declared its position to Western countries, which expressed their understanding on this issue.

“Sanctions against Russia will hit, first of all, the Turkish economy, we, of course, do not want this,” Ibrahim Kalin concluded.
