Adviser to the Prime Minister of Hungary on political issues, Balazs Orban, in an interview with Reuters, said that in the current situation, the European Union needs to focus on ceasefire negotiations on the territory of Ukraine, and not deal with the issue of imposing sanctions against Russia.

“Our recommendation is that we should stop the sanctions process,” he said. In his opinion, the more sanctions the EU imposes, the more it harms the entire bloc, and Europe will eventually be the “losing party” due to economic problems.

Orban expresses his understanding that the continuation of the current EU strategy of “rational thinking” will “end badly for Europe.”

“So you have to think about something. Negotiations, ceasefire, peace. Diplomacy. This is our decision,” concluded the adviser to the Hungarian prime minister.
