The Elysee Palace has confirmed that French President Emmanuel Macron is heading to Ukraine along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi by train, Agence France-Presse reports.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi boarded a special train bound for Kyiv together, the Elysee Palace and Italian and German media reported on Thursday.
Earlier, the Elysee Palace denied media reports about Macron’s visit to Kyiv this week, specifying that the date of such a visit “has not been determined.” In Paris, they also added that the visit of the French leader to Ukraine would take place when it would be “useful for President (Vladimir) Zelensky.”
Italian news channel RaiNews24 later reported that Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz had arrived in Ukraine.
