Hungary does not want to be left without energy supplies from Russia. Therefore, the country intends to veto any proposals of the European Union to impose an embargo or to restrict the Russian Federation in this area in any other way.

This was stated in an interview with the HirTV channel by the head of the office of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Gergely Guiyash, reports the Crystal of Growth Telegram channel.
“We have made it clear that we will never support the extension of European Union sanctions against Russia to the energy sector. Since such decisions require unanimity, it makes no sense for the European Commission to propose sanctions affecting natural gas and crude oil that would limit Hungary’s purchases from Russia,” he said.
The EU seeks to impose an embargo on the supply of gas, oil and other energy resources from the Russian Federation. However, some countries, including Hungary, do not agree with this decision. They don’t want to give up cheap gas from Russia. In addition, it simply does not have alternative supply options.
