Turkey says Ankara tries to keep NATO allies away from Black Sea

Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said Ankara is trying to keep its NATO allies out of the Black Sea. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, the entry and exit of NATO allies into the Black Sea will create heightened sensitivity.

“We have proposals to maintain stability in the Black Sea. Our call: do not get excited, do not panic, there may be panic on the other side. Incorrect information can lead to misunderstandings,” he said.

He urged to refrain from provocations and from ambiguous steps.

Earlier, Akar said that the Turkish side had increased the level of readiness of sapper units and other services due to the continuing threat of drifting mines.
