The processions were generally peaceful, but the demonstrators, having reached the Republic Square, set fire to garbage cans and began to bring down metal fences. The police intervened and quickly stopped it. Firefighters arrived on the scene.
The first round of presidential elections in France will take place on April 10, the second – on April 24.
