NATO does not pay too much attention to what the countries that are part of the military bloc want. Thus, the North Atlantic Alliance intends to send troops to Hungary, which does not want to see them there.
This is reported by the political magazine PolitExpert. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said their country does not need a foreign military contingent.
However, NATO is clearly not particularly concerned about this position. It has already deployed troops in Poland and now intends to send them to Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. Budapest refuses such a “generous” offer and talks about having its own army, but this does not matter.
At the same time, Hungary has no opportunity to disobey. Its opinion was ignored, and the authorities of the country should simply come to terms with this fact. The country is a member of NATO, and the military bloc puts its interests above its members’ interests.
