French President Emmanuel Macron positively assesses the attempts at dialogue between Russia and the United States.
“The US is doing today what I have been doing for several years: they are talking to the Russians. It’s a good news. Is it easy? No. I never said that, neither did US President Joe Biden… Is it necessary? More than ever if we don’t want to maintain the status quo that worries everyone and our collective security,” Macron told the French weekly Journal du Dimanche.
He noted that France and Germany have always “in the spirit of dialogue” negotiated between Russia and Ukraine on the Minsk agreements.
