According to the SANA agency, terrorists of the Islamic State (IS*) group set up an ambush along the route of a military convoy in the Syrian desert.
“The militants opened fire on one of the military buses 50 km from the Mahatta es Celisa oil station. As a result, five soldiers were killed and another 20 were injured”, the media reported.
In recent months, IS* terrorist gangs have stepped up in eastern Syria and carried out a series of attacks on army checkpoints and military transport convoys, and government troops have suffered losses. Earlier it was reported that in November 13 Syrian army personnel were killed in the Misrab area of Deir ez-Zor province after being ambushed by terrorists.
