The presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone. They discussed the crisis between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Ukrainian conflict, the development of Turkish-Russian relations, as well as the situation in Libya and Syria. The conversation took place at the initiative of the Turkish side, the Kremlin said.
Mr Putin declared that any attempts by Kiev to use force in the Donbass are unacceptable. According to the Russian president, Ukraine continues its destructive line aimed at disrupting the Minsk agreements. This, in his opinion, is evidenced by the provocative activity of the armed forces of Ukraine in the conflict zone, including the use of unmanned aerial vehicles “Bayraktar”.
“When discussing the problems of the internal Ukrainian crisis, the importance of full and strict compliance with the 2015 Minsk Package of Measures and other agreements, including in the Normandy format, was noted,” the website of the presidential administration says.
Mr. Erdogan, in a conversation with the Russian President, spoke in favor of coordinating efforts in Karabakh, including using the capabilities of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire control center.
On November 29, Mr. Erdogan announced that he was in favor of peace between Russia and Ukraine. He proposed to make Turkey a mediator between countries to preserve peace in the Donbass.
