The foreign ministers of Russia, India and China held a meeting in the format of a video conference, during which the parties reached a broad consensus on global issues, The Global Times reported
Russia, China and India issued a joint communiqué at the end of the 18th foreign ministers’ meeting. The document indicated that the ministers reached consensus on a wide range of international issues, including an expression of support for the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.
“The meeting took place against the backdrop of adversity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the uneven economic recovery as well as the persistent threats of terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, transnational organised crime, natural and man-made disasters, food security and climate change”, – the communiqué said.
The foreign ministers of Russia, China and India exchanged views on further strengthening trilateral cooperation between the countries, and emphasised the need for regular high-level meetings to enhance closer cooperation between them.
The communiqué stressed that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is an influential and responsible member of the modern system of international relations, playing a constructive role in ensuring peace and sustainable development, strengthening ties of good neighbourliness and mutual trust.
“The Ministers stressed the importance of a timely, transparent, effective and non-discriminatory international response to global health challenges, including pandemics, with equitable and affordable access to medicines, vaccines and essential supplies”, –
