France urged to put pressure on Lukashenko

French President Emmanuel Macron called on European countries to continue pressure on Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko in connection with the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, RIA Novosti writes.

“The President confirmed the need for Europe to continue to put pressure on Alexander Lukashenko to put an end to this instrumentalization, which endangers many people,” the Elysee Palace said.

In addition, Macron called on Europe to “continue to work with countries of origin of migrants and transit, as well as with airlines, to “end these movements and allow those who are not eligible for asylum to be accepted back”.

The situation with migrants escalated on the border of Belarus and Poland on November 8. Several thousand refugees want to move to the territory of the European Union. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Minsk does not want a conflict on its state border.
