The attack on the Prime Minister’s residence took place on the night of November 7. The building was attacked with a mined unmanned aerial vehicle. Initially, local media reported that al-Kazimi received minor injuries and was hospitalized in a hospital, but Al-Hadath TV claims that the prime minister was not injured.

Mustafa al-Kazimi also tweeted that he is “fine.” The United States called the incident a terrorist attack and offered to help Iraq investigate the incident. Washington noted that the attack was aimed “at the very heart of the Iraqi state.”

“We are in close contact with the Iraqi security forces, which are working to protect the sovereignty and independence of Iraq, and have offered to help investigate this attack,” said US State Department spokesman Ned Price.
