Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban urged not to associate political criticism with energy supplies, stressing that Hungary needed to conclude an agreement with Russia.
This is stated in a message on the portal of the Hungarian government office, writes RIA Novosti.
According to the report, Orban said that “political criticism should not be linked to energy supplies,” adding that Hungary “should have struck a deal with the Russians.” The Prime Minister stressed that today the prices for natural gas and electricity in Hungary are among the lowest in the EU.
Hungary and Gazprom signed new contracts on September 27 for the supply of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year over the next 15 years. Including 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year will come through Serbia (from the “Turkish Stream”) and 1 billion – through Austria.
