Greece agreed with France on the supply of frigates and corvettes

Greece and France have reached an agreement to supply French FDI frigates and Gowind-class corvettes to the Greek Navy, media reported.

France and Greece announced further expansion of their defense cooperation during a visit to Paris by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Today, September 28, he signed a contract with President Emmanuel Macron for the purchase of three French frigates for the Greek Navy.

Earlier, Athens purchased 24 Rafale combat aircraft from France. Greece is pursuing a program to modernize its armed forces amid tensions with Turkey in the Mediterranean region.
