French politician Michel Voisin would like the authorities of his country to recognize the Russian status of Crimea as soon as possible.
He stated this to RIA Novosti.
A group of foreign observers and experts from a number of countries of the world, including France and Serbia, is on a visit to Crimea. Their goal is to observe the course of voting in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“I would like this to happen as soon as possible (France’s recognition of the Russian status of Crimea – ed.),” Voisin said.
In his opinion, the situation is developing in such a way that the imposed sanctions against Russia after 2014 played in its favor.
“The sanctions are not beneficial to the West. The sanctions are beneficial to Russia”, the politician emphasized.
