The crisis in relations between France and the United States will greatly affect the definition of a new strategic concept for NATO, but Paris has no plans to withdraw from the Atlantic alliance. This was announced by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, RIA Novosti reports.
“NATO initiated the discussion at the request of the President of the Republic. At the next summit, work will be done on a new strategic concept. Obviously, what happened will be related to its definition”, the minister said.
On September 17, the minister announced the recall to Paris for consultations of the country’s ambassadors to the United States and Australia due to the termination of the last contract on submarines. Note that for the first time in history, France recalls its ambassadors from America and Australia.
