The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova commented on the statement of the President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman that the special services were following him.
On her Facebook page, she noted that in an interview with Blesk, he admitted that he had known about the wiretapping for a long time. Such close attention to Milos is connected with the Russian direction in Czech politics.
“As follows from the revelations of the head of state, the principle of operation of the Czech moles is simple: since the president, as the head of state, for security reasons does not carry a mobile phone with him, the special services are digging under his entourage. In particular, not so long ago, anonymous sources leaked information to the Czech portal neovlivni.cz that counterintelligence is closely monitoring one of M. Zeman’s associates – economic advisor M. Nedly. The President confirmed that this case is not an isolated one”, Zakharova wrote.
The Czech president himself is sure that the war of his own special services against him is a payback for courage and dissenting opinion on many issues of domestic and foreign policy.
Explosions at military depots in the village of Vrbetice in 2014 may be one of the main reasons. Zeman did not immediately support the version of the siloviki, who hung the tragedy on the Russian side. He has publicly stated that there is no evidence, which means that the accusations are groundless.
“Now it becomes clear why for so many years the Czech special services were unable to investigate that tragedy. They have no time, they have a lot of important things to do – they need to keep an eye on the unreliable”, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman concluded.
Zakharova also drew attention to the fact that the whole story with military depots is more than “mysterious”. The facilities were beyond the control of the authorities, they contained incomprehensible weapons, and instead of investigating the incident, the security forces came up with “Russian militants”. And all this against the background of wiretapping of the head of state.
