The US military on Saturday came under fire in eastern Syria. A Pentagon spokesman told TASS that according to the initial assessment, there were no casualties, no damage was done.

“I can confirm that there was an indirect fire in Konoko (an oil and gas field in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, in the area of ​​which the American base is located). At the moment, according to initial reports, there are no losses, injuries or damage to structures”, – the US Defense Department said.

In turn, the Syrian agency SANA, citing local sources, reported on Saturday about an explosion at a gas processing plant of Conoco, located next to a US military base. According to the agency, the incident occurred before midnight local time. It is currently unknown what caused the explosion. Information about the victims is not provided.
