Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the position on the revival of the JCPOA will not change

Iran’s positions in the negotiations on reviving the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) under the new government headed by Ibrahim Raisi will remain the same, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi said.

According to official data, the head of the Iranian judiciary, Ibrahim Raisi, won the elections on Friday, gaining 61.9% of the vote – 17.9 million out of 28.9 million. All competitors of Raisi recognized his victory

Negotiations on the restoration of the JCPOA have been taking place in Vienna since April. Last Saturday, June 12, the sixth round of consultations began.

The Joint Comprehensive Action Plan, concluded in 2015 by the Six (Great Britain, Germany, China, Russia, the USA, France) and Iran, envisaging the lifting of sanctions in exchange for limiting Iran’s nuclear program as a guarantor of Tehran’s non-receipt of nuclear weapons, did not last even three years. In May 2018, the United States announced a unilateral withdrawal from it and the restoration of tough sanctions against Tehran.
