Presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a declaration of alliance

The leaders of the two countries held talks on Tuesday in the city of Shusha.

According to the AA portal, the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev, signed the Shusha Declaration on Alliance.

“Today is a historic day. Today we are receiving the President of Turkey, my brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the liberated Shusha. My brother has been to Azerbaijan many times, but he is arriving in Shusha for the first time. The joint declaration of alliance signed by us today will raise our relations to the highest level. The name of the declaration speaks for itself. All points of this declaration are a guarantee of our further cooperation”, – the President of Azerbaijan said at a joint press conference after the signing ceremony.

Ilham Aliyev called the signing of the declaration a historic achievement: “By this we demonstrate that we will be united in the future”.

“I have repeatedly said that Turkey and Azerbaijan are the closest countries on a global scale, we have opportunities to develop our cooperation”, – the head of state added.
