Another 27 people were injured. Two sources told Reuters that five people were killed and more than 15 others were injured in the hospital.
As Reuters reports, citing the country’s information minister, Muammar al-Iriani, at least eight people were killed in the explosions in the Yemeni city of Marib.
“According to Muammar al-Iriani, the explosions were caused by missile and unmanned strikes by Houthi forces that are trying to take over the gas-rich region”, – the report said.
“Muammar al-Irian also added that the Houthis fired two ballistic missiles and two armed drones. and hit the mosque, commercial center and women’s correctional facility. An army spokesman previously told Al Hadath TV that the missiles hit a residential area and a commercial market. He said the Houthis launched two drones, but one was shot down and the other exploded in mid-air”.
There was no confirmation of the attack from the Houthi movement. Earlier this month, at least 17 people were killed in an explosion at a gas station in Marib. The government blamed the Houthi missile for it, but the group said it hit a military camp.
