Syrian air defenses repel Israeli missile strike

Syrian air defense systems have repelled an Israeli air force’s missile attack on ground targets south of Damascus, SANA reported.

“The attack on objects south of Damascus and in central Syria began at 23.36 [coincides with Moscow time]. Syrian anti-aircraft gunners opened fire on air targets and managed to hit several missiles. As a result of Israel’s aggressive action, only material damage was inflicted”, – a military source told the agency.

Recall that the last attack by the Israeli Air Force was launched on May 5: a missile strike was directed at military targets in the Jebla region southwest of the provincial center of Latakia. As a result of the attack, one person died and six more were injured of varying severity.
