Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyjarto said that Budapest signed a 15-year contract with Gazprom for the supply of Russian gas, Reuters reports.
“Hungary will not be left without natural gas. The connection of the Hungarian network to the gas pipeline on the border with Serbia will be completed by October, and within the framework of the new agreement, gas will be supplied to Hungary through it”, – the Hungarian Foreign Minister said.
Previously, the only channel for the delivery of Russian gas to Hungary was a pipeline that runs through the territory of Ukraine. However, now Budapest is counting on the supply of blue fuel through the new Turkish Stream pipeline, which runs through Serbia. The launch of the last section of the gas pipeline is scheduled for October this year.
