The Mwani Qatar Port Authority of Qatar is discussing with the Russian side at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum the possibility of establishing a direct sea route between Russian ports and the port of Hamada in Qatar to revive trade between the two countries, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Port Authority Mwani Qatar Abdullah al-Khanji told RIA Novosti.
Mwani Qatar participates in SPIEF as part of a delegation from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar and represents the port of Hamada, which is one of the largest ports in the Middle East.
“Several topics related to ports, maritime transport and logistics are discussed during the forum, including the possibility of establishing a direct sea route between Russian ports and the port of Hamada in Qatar to increase mutual trade. I am convinced that there is an excellent opportunity for further development and intensification of cooperation between two countries, including such important industries as maritime transport and ports”, – said al-Hanji.
He said that the Qatar Ports Authority offers many services related to ports and logistics for companies that want to work with Qatar, including companies from Russia.
