Already 240 gendarmes, including an anti-terrorist unit, are involved in the search for an attacker on a police officer near the French city of Nantes, BFM TV reported.
On Friday morning, an unknown assailant stabbed a police officer in the French commune of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre near Nantes, after which he fled. The victim was seriously injured. Earlier it was reported that the attacker is wanted by 80 gendarmes and a helicopter.
“To search for the attacker in the region. 240 gendarmes are involved, including the Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie”, – the statement said.
It is noted that the motives for the attack are still unknown.
