Israeli army hits car with Hamas members

The Israeli army attacked a car carrying members of the Hamas movement from the Shejaya battalion, the press service of the Israeli military said.

“Some time ago, an Israel Defense Forces plane struck a car with a Hamas terrorist detachment from the Shejaya battalion”, – the message says.

Large-scale clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police broke out in East Jerusalem on Saturday night. Riots began in two districts of East Jerusalem at once – near the Temple Mount and in the Sheikh Jarrah quarter, where several Arab families are being evicted by an Israeli court decision, which led to several days of protests that escalated into riots.

On Monday evening, the situation on the border between Israel and the Palestinian Gaza Strip escalated sharply. Palestinian groups fired over a thousand rockets at Israel from Gaza – 860 rockets were fired at Israeli territory, which crossed the border, and about 200 more rockets did not cross the separation fence and exploded in the sector.

Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted about 200 of them. As a result of rocket attacks, five Israelis were killed and more than 200 were injured. Israel attacked the Gaza Strip, killing 53 people.
