“Not serious”. French Interior Minister spoke about the military who signed the letter

There will soon be more signatures under the letter from the military, who said that a “civil war” is brewing in France, than the military themselves, said Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen.

On Monday, the French military drew up a second appeal to President Emmanuel Macron. They stressed that their senior comrades deserve respect. The authors of the appeal are sure that Macron treated the authors of the previous letter “as rebels”.

At the same time, according to the current military, the only fault of their colleagues is that “they love their country and mourn its obvious fall.” The military said they see a “civil war” brewing in France. To date, the number of people who have signed the open letter has reached 211,189.

“This is not serious. Soon there will be more signatures than the military themselves”, – RIA Novosti quoted Darmanen as saying.

Earlier, he called it a shameful act to support the current military officers and retired generals addressing the president of the country. According to him, in a democratic country, the choice lies with the people, and not “for a few military men”.

The previous letter to the head of state was drawn up in April. The authors of the appeal are sure that France is in mortal danger. The letter was signed by retired generals, one hundred senior officers and more than a thousand other servicemen.

According to the military, the outskirts of France are de facto seized by the Islamists and dictate their terms.

“Fanatical supporters of racial war” despise the country and want it to be destroyed, the letter said. The French President should pay attention to the growth of violence in the country, according to the authors of the appeal.
