Netanyahu announced the intensification of strikes on the Gaza Strip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a decision to increase the intensity of attacks due to shelling from the Gaza Strip.

“Summing up the assessment of the situation, it was decided to increase both the strength and the pace of attacks,” Netanyahu said in a video message.

The prime minister added that Hamas did not expect strikes, and also noted that the situation requires patience on the part of the citizens of Israel.

Palestinian groups have been conducting massive shelling of Israel since 18:00 yesterday. Since Monday, more than 200 rockets have been launched from the Gaza Strip across Israel, and the Israeli army responded by hitting more than 130 military targets in the enclave, killing 15 militants. Two Israelis were killed by rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip in the south of the country.

The Israeli army has called on 5,000 reservists to reinforce various units during the “Wall Guard” operation against the Palestinian Islamists.
