Turkish politician called on Russian air defenses to respond to the recognition of the Armenian genocide in U.S.

Relations between Ankara and Washington found themselves at a “historical crossroads”.

This statement was made by Devlet Bahceli, an ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the head of the nationalist party.

“We believe that Turkey’s relations with the United States are at a historic crossroads. In response to Biden’s statements, we must first activate the S-400, return the money for the F-35 fighters”, – the politician said.

Thus, he reacted to the decision of US President Joe Biden to recognize the events in the Ottoman Empire as an Armenian genocide.

“Every year on this day, we remember the lives of all those who died during the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman era, and we again pledge to prevent the repetition of such atrocities. Starting from April 24, 1915, after the arrest of the Armenian intelligentsia and community leaders in Constantinople by the Ottoman authorities, one and a half million Armenians were deported or killed in a campaign of extermination”, – the head of the White House said on April 24.
